I could be wrong, but, I think .. Βοή can be a loud (perhaps background) noise that's at an uncomfortable level, like the blaring of a siren, etc.. But it could also refer to .. A hum, drone (methinks) - a monotonous, drawn-out, deep and sustained sound (still a noise, I suppose) that's...
