    recast a situation

Αρχίζω να υποψιάζομαι ότι το cast (του recasting) εχει περίπου τη σημασία του cast στην φράση ... "cast something in a different light"; So, by "recasting" something, we might be playing it back in our minds and "seeing it" or reconsidering it (your anger outburst, or whatever emotion you're...

Θυμήθηκα αυτόν τον τύπο ... με την "χαριτωμένη" προφορά του (ανατριχιάζω, μόνο που την ακούω).

    ascending dragon

The main thing here is: Whereas, the Chinese dragons are depicted as descending from the sky, the Vietnamese dragons are depicted doing the very opposite - "rising/ascending" high into the sky. This is because an "ascending/rising dragon" symbolises good luck (in Vietnamese mythology) - it's a...

    ascending dragon

May be true in cases where we don't know the context, but here we're referring specifically to the Vietnamese Dragons, where "rises from a lake" means the dragon skims the lake surface, picks up water from it (the lake) and then soars/rises into the air and drops it as rain. The dragon is...

    ascending dragon

"Ascending" (in ascending dragon) is closer to "rising" (dragon) than to "emerging."

    ascending dragon

... έτσι το κατάλαβα, και συμφωνώ με το αναδυόμενος και ίσως με τo ανερχόμενος (the ascending dragon symbolises good luck - αλλά, υπάρχει και η μεταφορική σημασία - Vietnam is "rising," "up-and-coming," thriving," etc..).

(cougr, you've really come back with a vengeance, revisiting and resurrecting old threads, etc...) Anyway, seeing this thread has popped up - There are heaps of idioms that you could combine for this. Here's a couple that readily come to mind (I'm sure there are many, many others). Before...

    Inspective gesture

I can't be certain, of course, but I find it interesting that the same thought crossed your mind. We are dealing with a bad translation, and "gesture" (as we've both sensed) is really not that far removed from "non-verbal communication"/"body language," and everything seems to point in this...

Also, going back to page 35/59: •"Gesture and professional ethics" appears under "Subject/Activities - and (if you notice), it comprises the 1st Phase "Theoretical" portion of the Initial Training/Internship," whereas "inspective gesture" which appears (only) under the "Evaluation Methods"...
