What are the two things wrong with this wing map, nickel? But I am glad that it is useful for colleagues.

There are two mistakes in the original: ΤΡΑΜΟΥΝΤΑΝΑΣ instead of ΤΡΑΜΟΥΝΤΑΝΑ and ΠΟΥΝΕΝΤΗΣ instead of ΠΟΥΝΕΝΤΕΣ.

Κι ο Σορόκος συνήθως Σιρόκος δεν λέγεται, ή κάνω λάθος;

I found a note on wikipedia:- Ο σιρόκος ή σορόκος είναι άνεμος της Μεσογείου, ο οποίος δημιουργείται στις ερήμους νότια της Μεσογείου (Σαχάρα και Μέση Ανατολή). Thanks to nickel for his precise observation.

Πολύ λίγο σχετικό αλλά νοσταλγικό: Ποιος θυμάται τον Δυσσέα Πουνέντε από το "Ημερολόγιο ενός θυρωρού";

Does Όχι σε δικό μου μπλουζάκι! mean that’s not what’s written on my t-shirt?
It means that the spelling ΠΟΥΝΕΝΤΗΣ would not normally appear on a T-shirt where the wording would be of my own choice (though, on the other hand, I've nothing against ΣΙΡΟΚΟΣ).

I will answer more fully tomorrow, when I have digested all this excellent material! I only mentioned ‘the afternoon wind’ because those were the identical words used by our skipper. When I asked in ignorance if it was the meltemi, which he the informed me occurred later in the year, he replied that it wasn’t: it was the south-westerly afternoon wind. I think that he must have answered that it was γαρμπής (apologies for the misspelling!).
Just to add to that that meltemi is a seasonal phenomenon of northern winds, the wind would still be described as a northerly one. Don’t confuse the names of the winds with the name of the phenomenon (although it is often used interchangeably).
