zoning = καθορισμός ζωνών, ζωνοποίηση

Zoning is the practice of controlling what kinds of activities are allowed to take place in a specific neighborhood. For example, you are usually not allowed to build a factory in the middle of a residential neighborhood and you can only build gas stations on specific streets. Zoning is regulated by a city or town's planning department. Could you please tell me what the equivalent is in Greek and what department controls it? Thank you:)

Generally speaking, it's referred to as ζωνοποίηση or καθορισμός ζωνών (για την χρήση γης/χρήσεων γης).

As for the relevant regulating department/s, I'm not too sure.

I forgot to mention that occasionally the term "ζώνωση" is also used as a translation for "zoning".
