I'll attempt a rendering conveying a similar image, Theseus, just because I can't think of another appropriate, standard phrase right now.

Έκανε τις απόψεις του παντιέρα / μπαϊράκι.

Mind you, as you can see in the Triantafyllides dictionary linked above, a similar and common phrase with παντιέρα is «σήκωσε (δική του) παντιέρα» or «σήκωσε (δικό του) μπαϊράκι», but that means to revolt against or defiantly disobey something / someone.
