What are the meanings of this word (excluding the verb form)?
Here are some examples ( From Report to Greco):

Thanks.

Hi, Altan. It is a kind of filler, I'd say, especially when used in narration to keep the flow going. It could be translated in different ways, e.g. 'it seems', 'supposedly', 'they say', but more often than not does not have to be translated.

Καλημέρα from my end.

Λέει is often used idiomatically with the meaning of 'supposedly', 'apparently' and other similar terms and is often used with a tone of skepticism or irony/ sarcasm to what is being said or claimed.
I've only skimmed through these quickly but in the examples above you could think of it as meaning:

1. supposedly, rumour has it
2. imagine now, if only
3. they say
4. supposedly, it is claimed
5. supposedly

Depending on context it could also mean allegedly, so the story goes, they claim etc.

Edit: I was writing my post when nickel posted his, so hadn't seen it.
