Είναι κωδικό όνομα πράκτορα στη σειρά Alias. Δεν έχω δει τη σειρά στο Filmnet, ούτε στον ΑΝΤ1 όπου προβάλλεται κατά τις 3 το πρωί.

Υπάρχουν δύο περιπτώσεις απόδοσης:
1) Το αφήνω αμετάφραστο, σαν να είναι σκυλί: Ριτρίβερ.
2) Το αποδίδω με ένα από τα ουσιαστικά που βγαίνουν από το ρήμα retrieve = ανακτώ, επανακτώ, παλινορθώ, αποδίδω, επανορθώνω, σώζω, διασώζω, ξαναβρίσκω, ανευρίσκω, αποκαθιστώ.
Το μόνο που στέκεται αξιοπρεπώς, νομίζω, είναι Διασώστης. Μόνο που δεν τον στέλνουν σε αποστολές διάσωσης, τον στέλνουν σε "ανακτήσεις".

Σε ερασιτεχνικούς υποτίτλους που κυκλοφορούν στο Διαδίκτυο, το είδα "Παραλήπτης".

Καλημέρα. Έχουμε πρόβλημα. Μονολεκτικά και το fetch το λέμε «Φετς» στους σκύλους... :)
Από το να φτιάξεις ένα ουσιαστικό ( «προσκομιστής»; ), καλύτερα το γνωστό και αμετάφραστο «ριτρίβερ». Εκτός αν το ρόλο τον παίζει ο Φέρτης.

Εγώ πάλι θα έλεγα να το μεταφράσει. Το σκέφτομαι πολλή ώρα και νομίζω ότι το Διασώστης αλλά και το Παραλήπτης δεν είναι κακή ιδέα.

A retriever is a type of gun dog that retrieves game for a hunter. Generally gun-dogs are divided into three major classifications: retrievers, flushing spaniels, and pointing breeds. Retrievers were bred primarily to retrieve birds or other prey and return them to the hunter without damage. Although spaniels and some pointing breeds routinely retrieve game, and many retrievers are skilled in finding game, retrievers are distinguished in that non-slip retrieval is their primary function. As a result, retriever breeds are bred for soft mouths and a great willingness to please, learn, and obey. A soft mouth refers to the willingness of the dog to carry game in its mouth without biting into it. "Hard mouth" is a serious fault in a hunting dog and is one that is very difficult to correct. A hard-mouthed dog renders game unpresentable or at worst inedible.

The retriever's willingness to please and trainability have made retrievers such as the Labrador Retriever and Golden Retriever popular as assistance dogs.

Προσοχή ως προς το κυνηγόσκυλο (σκυλί ράτσας κατάλληλης για κυνήγι, στο οποίο συμμετέχει εντοπίζοντας, συλλαμβάνοντας και μεταφέροντας το θήραμα). Γενικότερα είναι ο hunting dog.

A hunting dog refers to any dog who assists humans in hunting. There are several types of hunting dogs developed for the many tasks hunters require that they fulfill. The major categories of hunting dog include hounds, terriers, curs type dogs, and gun dogs. Among these categories further divisions can be made based upon the skill sets that the dogs possess.

Ειδικότερα μπορεί να είναι ο hound.

A hound is a type of dog that assists hunters by tracking or chasing the animal being hunted. It can be contrasted with the gun dog, which assists hunters by identifying the location of prey, and with the retriever, which recovers shot quarry.

Από την άλλη, δεν αποκλείεται να χρησιμοποιηθεί με κάποια χαλαρότητα σε κάποια μεταφραστική ανάγκη.
