Πώς να αποδώσουμε το ρόλο των πρακτόρων σε μια αποστολή; Κάποιος είναι on point, δηλαδή αυτός θα παίξει τον κύριο ρόλο στην αποστολή, οι υπόλοιποι θα παίξουν υποστηρικτικό ρόλο.

Δεν θα ήταν ίσως άστοχο να χρησιμοποιήσετε ως απόδοση τον όρο αιχμή τού δόρατος, παρ' όλο που εδώ δεν έχετε το αγγλ. spearhead.

Μια άλλη πιθανή απόδοση θα ήταν το επικεφαλής. Βλέπω ότι το Οxford English Dictionary εξηγεί : «on point. The position at the front of an advancing force; the position at the head of a column or wedge of troops. Also: a person or group occupying this position; a leading party or advanced guard. Now chiefly U.S. »

Ίσως όμως να έχει σχέση και μια άλλη σημασία τού on point (παραθέτω πάλι από το ΟΕD): «point. A post at which a policeman or policewoman is stationed; (hence) an instance of being stationed at such a post. Now usually in POINT DUTY n. Also: a location where police, military personnel, etc., assemble; a rendezvous (now rare). In quot. 1888 on point: perh. short for ‘on point duty’» Σ' αυτή την περίπτωση, προτιμότερη απόδοση θα ήταν ίσως το «σε (διατεταγμένη) υπηρεσία».
