Married with three grown-up children, two of whom will be married this year. Have taught Classics for 40 years and studied it and Theology at UCL and Jesus College Cambridge. Translator of Ancient Greek poetry, including the recently discovered poem by Sappho on Old Age and the charming poem about the Cicada from the Anacreonta.
